God is moving our hearts to His own heartbeat for the nation of Tanzania. We are excited God is returning us back into overseas missions to the continent of Africa. He has called us to Haven of Peace Academy (www.hopac.net), located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa. Jim will serve as the Secondary School Principal and Lisa will help set up and coordinate the health clinic. Our goal is to leave for Tanzania in mid-July of this year.


Our Heart is to:
· Show the love of Christ and spread His truth to the nation of Tanzania
· Bring healing to the sick and destitute
· Provide excellent Christ-centered education to children of missionary families doing essential work for God’s glory
· Grow and equip national students to be future leaders of Tanzania with integrity and character
· Bring revelation of Christ’s salvation to Hindu, Muslim, and non-believing students, families and throughout the community

HOPAC was founded in 1994 by 5 missionary families who desired better and affordable education for their children, with a strong biblical foundation, in order to continue their work in Tanzania. This Christian international school now enrolls over 300 students from over 30 different nations. Student makeup consists of 40% missionary kids, 35% Tanzanians, and the remainder are children of NGO workers or business people. Majority of teaching staff are Christian missionaries from all over the world.


HOPAC is the answer to the necessity of good affordable education for children of missionary families, who are making critical impact physically and spiritually in Tanzania. Many Tanzanian students, who otherwise could not afford the education, are given the opportunity through scholarships or through staff incentives. Furthermore, many non-Christian students, families, and the community are exposed to the love of Christ through classes, organized programs, teachers or other Christian students.


Students at HOPAC are challenged academically and spiritually as we live out HOPAC’s mission, “to provide an excellent, Christ-centered International education that meets western academic standards and equips students to live out a biblical worldview in all areas of life, to the glory of God.”
